What SauceAI for Restaurants accesses in your Gmail, why, and how to remove it.
When you connect your Gmail account, SauceAI accesses correspondence between your restaurant and third-party delivery platforms — DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub and their sub-brands (Caviar, Postmates, Seamless).
We find them by searching for mail to and from those companies, plus three subject lines they use — “order now”, “food order page”, “removal request”. Nothing else in your mailbox is retrieved.
We also read your Gmail address, once, to identify which restaurant you are.
sauce/, so you can see which threads we are working on.To do this we pass the relevant message content to two service providers: Nango, which brokers the Google connection and relays the requests, and Anthropic, which drafts the replies. They process it on our behalf and do not use it to train their models.
Sauce support staff can read the platform correspondence in these threads, to check a draft and move your request along. If you chose to have Sauce reply for you, they can also send those replies. They never write to anyone but the delivery platforms.
We do not store any other email from your mailbox.
Open your SauceAI status page and choose Disconnect and delete my data. This immediately deletes the stored correspondence and drafts for your mailbox, and revokes Sauce's access to your Google account.
Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, select SauceAI, and choose Remove access. Sauce loses access immediately, and the stored correspondence for your mailbox is deleted when Google notifies us.
Email support@getsauce.com from your connected address and ask us to disconnect and delete. We will confirm when it is done.
Drafts we prepared that are already sitting in your own Gmail Drafts folder belong to your mailbox, not ours — delete those in Gmail if you don't want them. Emails you have already sent stay in your Sent folder, as with any email you send yourself.
We keep platform correspondence only while it is needed to progress your removal requests and to let you and our support team see the history of a case. When you disconnect, it is deleted.
If an account goes a full year with no activity — no new platform correspondence, and nobody signing in — we disconnect the Gmail account and delete the stored correspondence and drafts. We email you before we do.
Correspondence travels over encrypted connections and is stored in a private database that is not reachable from the public internet. Access is limited to Sauce staff signing in with a Sauce Google account; credentials are held in a managed secret store, never in our code.
You can see everything we hold for your mailbox on your SauceAI status page, and you can remove it yourself at any time using any of the three options above. If you would rather we handled it, email support@getsauce.com and we will confirm when it is done.
SauceAI for Restaurants is a tool for businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we change how SauceAI uses your Google account data, we will update this page and ask you to agree to the new terms the next time you sign in — we do not carry an old agreement over to a new one.
